Google has unified all its BI tools under the Looker brand. This means that Data Studio is now Looker Studio. This move comes as part of an ongoing process of product integration since 2020, when Google acquired Looker for $2.6 billion 🎨
Dunkin’ Donuts faced severe backlash after upending its Reward system. A free Dunkin’ signature latte that previously could have been earned with $40 of spending now requires $90. Users call this move “the final nail in the coffin” ⚰️ ☕️

The US Securities and Exchange Comission (SEC) is investigating whether NFTs issued by Yuga Labs should be subject to similar disclosure rules to traditional securities such as stocks.
For an asset to fall under SEC’s definition of security, it must to pass the Howey Test. If it’s a security, its issuers must register with the SEC and file financial reports regularly.
The main concern is around the Otherdeeds sale for claims to land in the Otherside metaverse, which could be considered an unregistered securities offering by the SEC.
Offchain Labs announced on October 13th that it would acquire Prysmatic Labs.
If you are familiar with The Merge and Ethereum’s development, you might have heard of Prysmatic Labs. It is the core L1 engineering team behind Ethereum’s transition from PoW to PoS. Offchain Labs is a VC-backed and Princeton-founded company developing Arbitrum, a suite of L2 scaling technologies for Ethereum.
Collaboration between these 2 major L1 and L2 developers makes perfect sense if we think of scaling Ethereum. Layer 1 is fundamental for consensus and data availability. Layer 2 boosts execution and scalability of operations running on Ethereum’s mainnet.
Early next year, users will be able to pay for Google cloud services with Bitcoin and Ether. This announcement is an outcome of a new deal between Google and Coinbase.
In return, Coinbase will switch some of its data-related applications’ infrastructure from Amazon Web Services to Google Cloud. Not long ago, Google Cloud announced its partnership with Near Protocol to support technically Near’s grant recipients.
These moves strengthen Google’s position in the cloud market as well as in the web3 industry.
In the aftermath of an exploit that drained $100M, Binance performed a hard fork to secure the cross-chain infrastructure between BSC and BNB Beacon Chain.
While the upgrade did not affect regular users, node operators were forced to replace the old binary with a new code.
In the postmortem, BNB confirmed the cross-chain bridge bug as the exploit’s root cause. Many experts raised concerns about the decentralization level of the BNB Chain after the abrupt halt of the network.
