đŸ‘Ÿ ChatGPT did not write it!

newsletter.smartmarketingtoken.com

This newsletter is written by a human. We swear. But is it good or bad? We don’t know anymore. ChatGPT is so good at giving us answers that even scientists can’t spot it. What we know, though, is that we all should make friends with artificial intelligence before it is not us to decide!

Underneath the “Hot bits & bites” section, we listed some great articles on how to use AI in specific domains and how to cooperate with ChatGPT to make your work more productive. Hope you gonna like it đŸ™ŒđŸ»

Here’s the agenda for today:

  1. What’s buzzin’ in marketing?

  2. Binance strengthens up

  3. FTX is losing the game!

  4. Crypto.com will delist USDT in Canada

  5. What about web3 at CES 2023?

🛒 What’s buzzin’ in marketing?

  1. AI will not replace you. But a person using AI will. ChatGPT showed everyone that artificial intelligence has become smart enough to write reliable articles with very little or no human support. This is promising but concerning at the same time because some people may find their current field of work dominated entirely by AI soon. Allie K. Miller, former Amazon and IBM AI expert, shared “how to make AI part of your workflow” with some extra tools. More AI inspirations under the “Hot bits & bites” section đŸ‘Ÿ Make sure to check & learn them!

  2. Netflix launched an ad-supported tier in November 2022, and since then, many have wondered what the adoption rates would look like. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Netflix’s President of Worldwide Advertising, Jeremi Gorman, shared positive news about the streaming platform’s jump into the ad business. But it’s not all roses - the two biggest challenges are:

    1. Advertising rights - the initial contracts were signed before Netflix even started considering an ad-based tier. So, many of its content deals didn’t include AVOD rights. So, the ad inventory is limited. While Netflix is working on it, Gorman confirmed that 85% to 95% of Netflix’s content is available on the ad tier.

    2. Ad Pricing - CPMs are high due to limited ad inventory and a “premium content environment”. Gorman said Netflix would adjust the pricing and let the market dictate reasonable CPMs.

  3. Twitter and Musk are not slowing down! The most recent rumor is that the Twitter team is considering selling freed-up usernames. Just like Telegram did four months ago. There are over a billion unused Twitter handles, and Musk seems to be looking for a way to redistribute them in a fair and reasonable way. An auction-based marketplace for freed-up Twitter usernames would also provide the company with another means to generate income, which they desperately need.

  4. Facebook is bringing Messenger chat features back in-app. Or at least it is now experimenting with the feature that Facebook turned off in 2014 and asked users to download Messenger. The benefits for users are pretty obvious - one app instead of two apps means more space on the phone and less time spent switching between them. What are the benefits for Meta?

1ïžâƒŁ Binance strengthens up

source: cryptotimes.io

Although not official until the next court hearing on March 3rd, Binance US will probably get approval to acquire some of Voyager’s assets in a proposed deal worth roughly $1 billion. The crypto exchange filed for bankruptcy in July due to exposure to now-collapsed Terra and bad market conditions. Voyager customers will get 51% of their capital back when the deal becomes final.

Another good news about Binance is that the biggest crypto exchange gained its 7th regulatory approval in Europe, this time in Sweden. To expand and maintain its territory worldwide, Binance announced plans to increase the workforce by 15-30% in 2023. Hiring might be easier now, given that many companies, such as Coinbase or Huobi, are proceeding with job cuts.

2ïžâƒŁ FTX is losing the game!

source: nba.com

Miami-Dade County received permission from a US bankruptcy judge in Delaware to remove FTX’s branding from the Miami Heat’s arena. Back in 2021, county officials agreed to name the stadium “FTX Arena” until 2040 in return for $135 million from the now-bankrupt crypto exchange.

Sports sponsorships were FTX’s key marketing strategy, including the deal with the Mercedes F1 Team signed in September 2021. The financial terms were never disclosed. The top racing team won its eight-straight World Constructors’ Championship that year and was driving with the FTX logo on its car. The deal was terminated on November 11th, when FTX filed for bankruptcy.

3ïžâƒŁ Crypto.com will delist USDT in Canada

source: Beincrypto

Cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com will delist USDT and USDT trading pairs on its app and platform for Canadian residents on January 31st. Crypto.com will suspend all USDT transactions after the date mentioned above, and any remaining USDT balances will be converted to USDC.

This move is said to follow the Canadian Securities Administrators’ announcement to strengthen its oversight of crypto trading platforms. Despite the audit report prepared by Mazars Group, Crypto.com is under pressure after FTX’s fallout and increased asset outflows.
