The newly arrived Twitter CEO, Elon Musk, plans to fire half of Twitter staff to cut costs. Around 3,700 out of 7,500 employees might lose their job today. Moreover, most lucky ones who remain hired will be invited back to the offices. Musk intends to reverse the company’s existing work-from-anywhere policy.
On his first day as Twitter CEO, Elon Musk decided to fire the CEO, CFO, Head of Legal, and general counsel. If these are not enough changes within the first week, Twitter will charge you $8/month (instead of $4.99) for Twitter Blue. The blue check next to your Twitter nickname means that your account has been verified. From Monday on, with Twitter Blue, you will gain the following:
50% less advertising;
priority in replies, mentions, and searches;
ability to post longer videos & audio.

As announced on the official Meta website, Instagram is introducing a new way for creators to make NFTs and sell them on and off the platform. The new end-to-end toolkit will allow creators to create, showcase and sell their digital collectibles within Instagram.
At launch, Meta will rely on the Polygon blockchain, but it is also adding support for the Solana blockchain and Phantom wallet. The metadata of NFTs will be pulled directly from OpenSea so that collection names and descriptions can be viewed on Instagram.
This new rollout is aligned with Meta’s approach to web3. A few months earlier, it announced they were working on a wallet connection feature that would allow creators to display their NFTs on their Instagram and Facebook profiles.
The new organization will be called “Bharat Web3 Association (BWA)“ and will consist of new leading members - Polygon, WazirX, Coin DCX, Hike, CoinSwitch Kuber, and Zebpay.
Driving awareness about web3, supporting ecosystem partners and consumer protection, and pushing for technology and innovations belong to the goals of the new body. BWA will play a pivotal role in helping India achieve its potential as a global Web3 leader, said Polygon’s co-founder Sandeep Nailwal.
The word “Bharat” refers to the country of India.
The EU’s Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) bill might mark an end to undisclosed, paid crypto shilling.
More than a hundred celebrities who charge money for promoting crypto projects were listed in the leaked “shill price list”. According to the spreadsheet, Lindsay Lohan charged $25,000 for a shill tweet and $20,000 for a retweet.
Once MiCA is in force, profiting from commenting on crypto assets in social media without disclosure will be considered market manipulation in the European Union. The bill will likely come into effect in 2024.
